Workflow tips/copyright in-camera

December 1, 2020 • processing

We are right in the middle of a power workflow class, and we are sharing everything we have learned to improve your workflow speed, editing and organization.  Both in the field on a trip and at home in your office.  We are showing our ‘secret’ (well, not really) technique of tagging images in the camera so you can download your best shots within minutes of getting to your hotel room. We discuss quick editing tips, and how to have your edited images on Facebook five minutes from getting to your room.  Oh yeah!

One tip we are sharing with class is applying copyright in-camera.  We’ve found teaching workshops many participants haven’t gone ahead and set this up.  It’s one of the menu settings you have to dig for in the set up menu, so it is easily overlooked.

But it is simple to do.  Just use the menu to type in your copyright, and it will be applied to all your images.  Your copyright shows up in the copyright field in the metadata of the image, right where you want it.  If you edit a few images in photoshop and forget to add your copyright before you send them to social media, no worries, they already have your copyright embedded into the file!
