Here is another part of the equation for super fast workflow…an external drive that is also thunderbolt compatible. Basically, if you want the fastest speeds, you need a computer with fast thunderbolt, a thunderbolt card reader and a thunderbolt external drive for backup…and be using CF Express cards. If you don’t need super fast speeds, then save some money and use USB card readers and external drives, and keep using those SD and XQD cards. But for the speed demons out there, you need to pick up a Sandisk G-Drive Pro SSD Thunderbolt external drive.
I like the 1TB version to backup my large files, but video shooters and volume wildlife shooters might want to consider the 2TB version. This drive uses Thunderbolt via a USB-C connection. You can back up thousands of images to this drive in a few minutes time. No more waiting on drives to backup after a busy day photographing on safari. You will be first to dinner, and be backed up! Oh yeah!
