Zoom lenses are handy, no doubt about it. You can virtually stand in one place and blaze through a variety of compositions. My favorite trinity of zooms, the 14-24mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm are staples in my work. But don’t forget about primes. They offer a lot of advantages, and in some cases, bring out your creativity.
