Multiple Exposure

August 17, 2020 • In The News

Fort Collins CO.

Recently I finished an assignment for Nikon covering one of my favorite topics…multiple exposure.  I’ve been talking about how useful multiple exposure is for years, and finally got the chance to produce a story for Nikon at Learn and Explore. For years multiple exposure seemed like a party trick…you just weren’t going to use it for much,  But when I started lighting scenes using one speedlight in 6 different spots during a ME sequence, I started seeing the potential.  I could create silky water in rivers, stretch clouds out across landscapes, and create interesting double exposure portraits.  Mirrorless opened up even more potential since I could see each frame in the EVF at reduced opacity during the sequence, which helped with overlaying the images.  No matter what brand of camera you use, check out this article, you might learn a few new tricks!
