Light and Shadow Magazine

March 29, 2021 • Blog

We recently wrapped up three online classes on Travel Photography, one of our most popular online classes.  During the class we talked about putting images together in a final narrative, and focused on the importance of an establishing shot.  I just received a copy of Light and Shadow, issue 4, a quarterly magazine Really Right Stuff produces, and was thrilled to see a double truck opener for a story I wrote on adventure photography.  My career started in adventure photography, and it is always great to talk about my experiences in the field. Our garage looks like an REI store, and spring climbing is on our agenda.

I’ve used Really Right Stuff gear for years, and I think their tripods are the best out there.  Lightweight, strong and made in the USA, these tripods last a lifetime.  We just purchased a new Ascend-14L version with the built in head, and can’t wait to try it out.  This tripod extends to six feet (my eye level), and weighs around 3 pounds.  I’ll have a detailed review in the future,
