Let it snow…

11 degrees. Blowing snow. Icy roads. Sounds like a perfect day to go shoot fly fishing! Time and again I mention on workshops that bad weather is good weather in terms of photography. Snow adds an atmospheric element creating mood and emotion in an image. We are getting lots of cold and snow in Colorado right now, so I headed out the door to shoot some icy fly fishing today. I love the feel of a cold, wintery day and it works well to support a lone fisherman in the wilderness. To add more effect, I used my 45mm tilt shift lens. I like the miniature look; the landscape dwarfs the fisherman even more. If it is cold and snowy, head out the door and see what images you find, you might be surprised.
