I just got in from helping teach a backcountry photo workshop in Alaska with AMS, and this year we had another incredible experience. Great group, amazing weather and original images taken way off the grid. This workshop focuses on landscape and adventure sports, and part of the time is spent hiking into a remote location and camping a few nights.
I decided to go light and took two lenses and one body; a D800 and 28-300mm and 60mm macro. I am finally getting a chance to use the 28-300mm, and like the results. Every image here was taken with this lens.
This was my 27th summer in Alaska, and it just keeps getting better. Camping on a beautiful tundra ridge and watching the lights change on Denali was a highlight for me. And having a rainbow appear above camp was icing on the cake. I’ve already posted dates for next year’s trip, and most likely it will sell out again.
